Haie d’aubépine avec deux coings greffés sur un porte-greffe d’aubépine. Étant donné que le greffage a été effectué à une hauteur de 180 cm, les cimes des coings, d’un diamètre d’environ cinq mètres, dépassent la haie taillée.
Il s’agit ici d’une variété cultivée de coing qui était conservée pour ses gros fruits. En intégrant les coings dans la haie, qui fermait un ancien verger, l’utilité de la haie en tant que clôture a été augmentée en y ajoutant une production de fruits. Le coing était récolté après la première gelée, ce qui rendait la chair douce et comestible.
