Le cimetière militaire français de Machelen-aan-de-Leie se trouve dans la Dorpsstraat. Par le petit portail d'entrée, vous pouvez accéder librement au cimetière. Ici, 750 soldats français tombés sont commémorés, qui ont péri dans la région de la Lys et de l'Escaut lors de l'Offensive finale de 1918. Chaque année, le premier dimanche de septembre, une commémoration franco-belge y a également lieu.
