De l'église gothique du XVe-XVIe siècle, les collatéraux ont été élargis au XIXe siècle et en 1910, le clocher a été élevé selon les plans de Hyacinthe Martens et Victor Lenertz. En 1934, l'église a été agrandie vers l'est depuis le transept selon les plans de K. Gessler (Maaseik) à l'aide de deux travées de transept, perpendiculaires à l'ancien chœur, un nouveau chœur, un choeur latéral et une sacristie.
