La véloroute Waterhoek vous emmène dans le Haut-Escaut entre Avelgem et Anzegem. Vous partez au Pompgebouw à Bossuit. De là, vous longez le canal Bossuit-Courtrai et l’ancienne ligne de chemin de fer Courtrai-Renaix jusqu’à Avelgem. Ensuite, vous pédalez en direction de Tiegemberg. Sur le chemin du retour, vous passerez par Kerkhove, Waarmaarde et le chemin de halage le long de l’Escaut. Bon à savoir: Le Waterhoek le long de l’Escaut a acquis une renommée grâce au travail de Stijn Streuvels. Mira et d’autres personnages de « De Teleurgang van de Waterhoek » ont vécu ici.
