Bantikow est un village et une ancienne commune allemande du district d’Ostprignitz-Ruppin, dans le Brandebourg. Au 1er avril 2010, Bantikow comptait 453 habitants. Le village est situé sur ce qu’on appelle l’Untersee et a récemment gagné en importance pour le tourisme en raison de son emplacement pittoresque.
L’archéologie suppose, sur la base de traces sûres de peuplement, que le village de Bantikow a déjà plus de 1000 ans. L’endroit a été mentionné pour la première fois par écrit en 1307 sous le nom de Banttecowe. Cette année-là, les comtes de Schwerin délivrèrent un certificat pour le monastère de Stepenitz à Bantikow. En 1364, il est mentionné dans Bantekowe, en 1487 Bantkow, en 1753 Bantikow. La forme de base du nom de lieu est le mot vieux slave Badk-ow et signifie lieu d’un Badk. Le nom de personne Badk est une forme abrégée de prénoms tels que Badislav.
