Le château d'Alter Falkenstein, également appelé château d'Alt-Falkenstein, dans les montagnes du Harz, est un site de château médiéval surélevé dans la zone urbaine de Falkenstein/Harz, dans le district de Harz en Saxe-Anhalt. Il a été construit au 11e siècle et détruit en 1115.
Le site du château d'Alter Falkenstein se trouve dans la partie orientale du Harz, dans le pays de Mansfeld, entre Mägdesprung et Meisdorf, sur une crête rocheuse, au-dessus de la vallée de la Selke. Dans un paysage boisé du parc naturel Harz/Saxe-Anhalt, il est situé dans la réserve naturelle de Selketal, à environ 1,25 kilomètre au nord-ouest de la Köhlerhütte, qui se trouve près de la route de district 1344, au nord-ouest de Pansfelde. De là, on accède par des chemins forestiers jusqu'à la plateforme de cerf, haute de 364,2 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer, au site du château.
