Construite en 1629 et restaurée en 1870, la Porte d’Amont est la seule porte des remparts de Meung-sur-Loire qui subsiste. Elle était la porte principale, la porte d'honneur, puisqu'elle servait de lieu de réunions des échevins. Elle permettait aussi aux habitants de se protéger et défendre la ville.
La porte d'Amont a retrouvé tout son lustre d'antan suite à une récente campagne de restauration.
