Construite par l'Architecte Claude Parent en 1966 dans le quartier du Banlay, l'église Sainte Bernadette est classée monument historique en 2000. «C'est une église très intentionnelle où rien n'est laissé au hasard. [...]. Cette cuirasse, lieu terrible, dont le seuil est difficile à franchir, s'ouvre sur un espace intérieur protecteur». (Claude Parent).
A partir du 6 Octobre 2025, l'église Sainte Bernadette du Banlay rentre dans une phase de travaux (extérieur). Les visites et l'accueil sont suspendus pendant cette période.
