Le Gymnasium Coornhert est un gymnasium catégoriel à Gouda. C'est une école publique avec environ 720 élèves, venant de Gouda et de ses environs. L'école est nommée d'après le savant humaniste du 16ème siècle Dirck Volkertsz. Coornhert, qui passa ses dernières années de vie à Gouda.
Le gymnasium trouve son origine au 14ème siècle en tant qu'école paroissiale près de l'église Saint-Jean. L'école a ensuite changé plusieurs fois de lieu et a également été convertie en école latine. Cette école latine a été transformée en pro-gymnasium en 1888 et en véritable gymnasium en 1890. Le 4 janvier 1890, le gymnasium a débuté de manière festive et le 'nouveau' bâtiment sur le port a été inauguré. Aujourd'hui, le gymnasium est situé dans un endroit en dehors du centre historique.
