Questa volta occorre prepararsi trattando molto bene le gambe: da Matrei in Osttirol o dal centro abitato di Glanz a 1.445 metri, infatti, si risale il percorso fino a raggiungere i 2.700 metri, dove si trova il rifugio Sudetendeutschen Hütte nel cuore del gruppo del Granatspitze. Si tratta, quindi, di affrontare diversi metri di dislivello che richiedono molta forza. E il tutto, senza le ali di un'aquila! Tuttavia la natura con i suoi eccezionali gioielli distrae dalla fatica: il centro abitato di Glanz incanta il visitatore grazie agli antichi masi tipici dell'Osttirol, a 1.900 metri si trova un campo di stelle alpine e durante l'intero tour si aprono spettacolari panorami sul gruppo del Lasörling e le montagne circostanti.
