La monumentale Chiesa di Nostra Signora fu costruita a metà del XIII secolo. Il coro, come parte più antica, è senza dubbio la più rilevante e porta ancora i segni romanici.
Un progetto di restauro dell'architetto Chrétien Veraart del 1902 ci mostra come probabilmente appariva la chiesa: una massiccia torre occidentale in pietra con cuspide di legno, finestre rosoni nelle navate laterali, un portale nord e sud e all'interno volte a botte in legno invece delle volte a crociera aggiunte nel XVIII secolo nella navata centrale.
Nel XIII secolo il villaggio era un affollato santuario mariano, il che spiega immediatamente la ricchezza di architettura e decorazioni dell'edificio.
