Jean ha quindi lanciato sul mercato la prima cioccolata ripiena con un ripieno morbido. Ancora di più. Anche l'invenzione della scatola di praline, il Ballotin, è legata a Neuhaus. Alcuni anni dopo la prima pralina, sua moglie ha ideato quel Ballotin. Lo ha fatto per il semplice motivo che, quando vedeva suo marito vendere praline e metterle in un sacchetto di carta, non poteva sopportare di vederle rompersi.
