Protetto in una valle a forma di calderone e circondato da pendii boscosi, Ronse si mostra in tutto il suo splendore. Ogni prima domenica dopo Pentecoste si tiene qui la Grande Ommegang di Sant'Ermes, conosciuta meglio come la Fiertel. Il percorso di Hermes segue per la maggior parte il tracciato di questa antica processione. Pedaliamo in un ampio giro attorno alla città, attraverso strade in salita e in discesa, tra boschi e campagne. Passiamo tra l'altro per l'Hotond, con i suoi 150 metri la collina più alta delle Fiandre orientali.
