Kalkar è una città e comune nel Land tedesco della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia, situata nel distretto di Kleve nella regione del Basso Reno. Il 31 dicembre 2020, il comune contava 13.944 abitanti su una superficie di 88,23 km². Il comune è composto da diversi villaggi ecclesiastici. Kalkar si trova a pochi chilometri a sud del Reno ed è associata alla cooperazione Euregio Reno-Waal. Nel centro della città di Kalkar scorrono i ruscelli Leybach e Kalflack.
