La doppia tomba di Oberkassel fu scoperta nel 1914 da lavoratori di una cava nell'attuale quartiere di Bonn, Oberkassel. Sotto blocchi di basalto piatti e avvolti da uno strato scarso di argilla colorata da ocra, giacevano gli scheletri di un uomo di circa 50 anni, di una donna tra i 20 e i 25 anni, i resti di un cane, ulteriori resti animali e ossa animali lavorate.
