Il Lago Neurather, a volte chiamato anche Lago Martins, è un lago residuale di una miniera situato a nord-ovest del comune di Neurath, che fa parte oggi di Grevenbroich.
Il lago è nato dal fossato residuo dell'estrazione mineraria di lignite Neurath-Nord. Qui, nel campo minerario "Neurath 3", precedentemente "Principessa Victoria", è stata estratta lignite dal 1960 al 1985. L'estrazione è stata gestita dalla Martinswerk GmbH per la produzione chimica e metallurgica di Quadrath-Ichendorf, motivo per cui il lago è anche chiamato Lago Martins. L'operazione è stata condotta su incarico della Martinswerk da un Consorzio guidato dalla Strabag Bau-AG. Per l'estrazione nella miniera sono stati utilizzati dragline, lo smaltimento del materiale di scavo è avvenuto tramite impianti a nastro e scaricatori. Il carbone è stato trasportato in camion alla Martinswerk, dove è servito per la produzione di energia elettrica e vapore per il processo di produzione di argilla per fonderia.
