L'area naturale protetta di Salbruch si trova nel territorio delle città di Tönisvorst, Viersen e Willich nel distretto di Viersen in Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia.
L'area di circa 327,35 ha, che è stata protetta nel 1990, si estende a nord-est del centro di Viersen. A ovest scorrono la strada statale L 39 e l'A 61, a sud si trova la L 29. Il fiume Niers scorre da sud-est a nord-ovest attraverso l'area.
