Ateca è un comune e una villa spagnola della provincia di Saragozza, in Aragona. Ha una popolazione di 1729 abitanti e una densità di 20,80 ab/km² .[3] Appartenente alla Comunità di Calatayud, è il secondo nucleo di popolazione della comarca, dopo la capitale bilbilitana. Il territorio comunale, situato a circa 647 m sul livello del mare, ha un’estensione di 84,70 km² e una densità di 20,80 ab/km². È stata capoluogo del tribunale di Ateca fino alla riforma del 1965, quando è stata annessa a quello di Calatayud. A livello ecclesiastico appartiene alla diocesi di Tarazona.[4]
