Questa fontana moderna evoca i resti gallo-romani scoperti durante gli scavi delle antiche terme di Niederbronnois nel 1993. In questo sito sono state rinvenute due semicolonne in pietra arenaria, attualmente esposte nella Maison de l'Archéologie, provenienti probabilmente dalla facciata settentrionale della vasca di acqua fredda. Ricordano anche le semicolonne utilizzate nella ricostruzione ottocentesca del tempio dedicato a Mercurio presso Wasenbourg.
