Il Moulin de Chitré è un ex mulino comune risalente al Medioevo, legato all'omonimo castello.
Dopo aver prodotto farina e olio, alla fine del XIX secolo il mulino è stato dotato di macchinari all'avanguardia: un generatore elettrico, una pompa d'acqua e una ghiacciaia, tutti alimentati da una potente ruota "Sagebien". All'epoca, pochi siti erano in grado di riunire in un unico luogo tutte le "nuove tecnologie" ereditate dalla Rivoluzione industriale.
La soffitta del Moulin de Chitré è stata trasformata in un museo sul tema dell'acqua e della riserva naturale del Pinail.
Il belvedere offre una splendida e unica vista sulle rive della Vienne, con la diga e la porta marinière del XV secolo di fronte a voi. Al Moulin de Chitré troverete anche un'area di accoglienza, una sala espositiva, un giardino naturale e tavoli da picnic
