L'isola di Dursey si trova all'estremità sud-occidentale della penisola di Beara, a ovest della contea di Cork in Irlanda. L'isola di Dursey è lunga 6,5 chilometri e larga 1,5 chilometri. L'isola è separata dal continente da un stretto tratto d'acqua, Dursey Sound, che presenta una corrente di marea molto forte, con la Flag Rock sommersa vicino al centro del canale.
L'isola ha solo circa tre residenti permanenti ed è collegata al continente dall'unica funivia d'Irlanda. Il sistema della funivia, chiuso per manutenzione nel 2022, è stato riaperto a metà del 2023 dopo la sostituzione o la ristrutturazione delle sue torri, binari e infrastrutture correlate.
Dursey non ha negozi, pub o ristoranti. Un tempo c'era un ufficio postale sull'isola; questo è stato chiuso da allora.
