Rottum nel comune di Het Hogeland è un villaggio di origine radiale, situato tra Kantens e Usquert. Si trova nella provincia olandese di Groninga nella storica regione di Oosterambt dell'Ommeland Hunsingo. Il luogo conta 90 abitanti. Rottum è il nome di Rottumeroog, poiché l'ex monastero Juliana era il principale proprietario di quest'isola. Non è noto se Rottumerplaat sia stato nominato in onore del villaggio o di Rottumeroog. I villaggi di Helwerd, Holwinde e Bethlehem fanno anche parte del villaggio di Rottum.
