Sluis Gaarkeuken è una chiusa nel canale Van Starkenborgh vicino a Gaarkeuken nel comune di Westerkwartier nella provincia di Groningen. Il canale è di classe CEMT Va. L'attuale chiusa a Gaarkeuken è stata costruita negli anni 1975-1980 e costò all'epoca 20 milioni di fiorini. L'inaugurazione ufficiale della chiusa si è svolta il 17 ottobre 1980 per mano del commissario della regina Edzo Toxopeus. L'attuale chiusa è la terza costruita in questo luogo: nel 1864 fu realizzata una piccola chiusa a nord del vecchio Kolonelsdiep con dimensioni di 26 per 2 metri e una profondità di 2 metri. Con l'aumento della navigazione, nel 1924 fu installata una nuova chiusa di 190 per 10 metri con una profondità di 3 metri. Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, questa chiusa subì danni significativi. A causa dell'aumento del traffico marittimo, infine, negli anni '70 fu costruita l'attuale chiusa.
