Il volo flydubai 981 era un volo di linea di flydubai che il 19 marzo 2016 era operato da un Boeing 737-800 in servizio dall'Aeroporto Internazionale di Dubai all'Aeroporto di Rostov sul Don, in Russia. Durante la fase di atterraggio si è schiantato al suolo subito dopo un go-around, causando la morte dei 55 passeggeri e dei 7 membri dell'equipaggio.
All'aeroporto di Rostov le pessime condizioni meteo hanno costretto i piloti ad interrompere un primo tentativo di atterraggio e ad entrare in un circuito di attesa per quasi due ore prima di effettuare un secondo tentativo, ma dopo aver interrotto anche questo, l'aereo è salito a 1.200 m di quota per poi scendere rapidamente schiantandosi nei pressi della pista 22.
