Orléans is een hedendaagse universiteitsstad, vandaag vooral bekend om de Franse heldin Jeanne d'Arc die de stad in 1429 bevrijdde in de Honderdjarige Oorlog. De bijnaam van de stad is de Ville d'Art et d'Histoire. Deze stadswandeling start aan het station van Orléans en neemt je langs historische gebouwen en moderne kunstcentra. Hoogtepunten zijn de kathedraal van Orléans, de Loire en het huis van Jeanne d'Arc.
