Vanaf de top van de Rocca di Termini Alta domineer dit kasteel de hele stad en een groot deel van de Tyrreense kustlijn.

Het kasteel werd tussen 1860 en het begin van de 20e eeuw volledig verwoest. Tegenwoordig staan er een waterreservoir en bijbehorende faciliteiten voor in de plaats. De iconografie van de 16e-19e eeuw toont het kasteel geïsoleerd op de klif, met de kern op de top, beschermd door een uitgestrekt gebastioneerd muurcircuit.
