Aan de linkerkant van de Largo da República do Brasil zien we een pleintje met een fontein, gebouwd in 1856, met twee tuiten en eenvoudige ornamenten.
Daarachter bevindt zich een openbare gemeenschapstank, gemaakt van graniet. Het werd gebouwd om betere omstandigheden te bieden aan de inwoners van de omgeving en de bouw ervan eindigde ook in 1856. Direct naast de plek waar de rivier de Selho stroomt, die onder de tuin door richting de Zona de Couros stroomt.
Vandaag de dag is de functie puur decoratief.
