Carcassona és una vila occitana del Llenguadoc situada en el departament de l'Aude i a la regió d'Occitània. La vila és la capital de l'Aude i és coneguda per la ciutat fortificada de Carcassona, d'arquitectura medieval i restaurada per Viollet-le-Duc al segle xix i Patrimoni de la Humanitat de la UNESCO des de 1997.
