På en 5 minutters gåtur fra Markedspladsen finder du Pax-tårnet, Krypten og IJzertårnet. Sammen danner de det Europæiske Fredsområde. I dette museum (22 etager) får du en idé om, hvordan livet var under Første Verdenskrig. Lugten af kloral- og sennepsgas, føl frygten fra soldaterne i Dødens Skyttegrave. I en højde af 84 meter har du en storslået udsigt over Diksmuide og hele Westhoek-regionen.
Åbent dagligt fra 1. oktober til 31. marts, fra 9.00 til 17.00 og fra 1. april til 30. september, fra 9.00 til 18.00. Weekender og helligdage åbent fra 10.00. Lukket den 24., 25., 26. og 31. december 2012 og den 1. og 2. januar 2013. Også lukket de tre uger efter den belgiske jul.
