Det store værk, Køer på vej til heden er af Florent Crabeels, den anden fornyer inden for 1800-tallets malerkunst. Crabeels bliver kaldt lysets maler, og Pol De Mont kaldte ham 'vores første belgiske luminist'. Bagsiden viser værket Kulmarken, et værk hvor lyset også dominerer. Han var meget ven med Heymans, der var ti år yngre, men alligevel meget påvirket af ham. Crabeels boede i en del af huset til Janneke 'Tijs' Van de Voet, (ved broen over motorvejen) en ugift landmand (foto på tavlen).
