Altenberger Dom er den tidligere klosterkirke med beskyttelsen af St. Maria himmelfart, som blev grundlagt af cistercienserne i 1133. Indtil 1511 var kirken også gravsted for greverne og hertugerne af Berg samt hertugerne af Jülich-Berg.
„Altenberger Dom“ er den almindeligt anvendte betegnelse for klosterkirken, hvor ordet „Dom“ i dette tilfælde ikke henviser til katedralen i et bispedømme, men blot angiver bygningens katedralagtige dimensioner. I dag ejes Altenberger Dom af delstaten Nordrhein-Westfalen og har siden 1857 været brugt som sognekirke af både den romersk-katolske og den evangeliske menighed.
