Frakenmühle havde sin beliggenhed ved Schwalm i delkommunen Frankenmühle, i kommunen Schwalmtal i Kreis Viersen. Ovenfor ligger Mühlrather Mühle, nedenfor Borner Mühle. Vandstanden i Schwalm ligger på 43 m over NN.
Frakenmühle var en oliemølle, som har givet delkommunen Frankenmühle sit navn. Navnet blev allerede i det 13. århundrede registreret som Hondschaftsnavn. Navnet er også nævnt på Tranchot-kortet fra 1806. Man ved en del om navnet, men meget lidt om møllen, bortset fra nogle fund fra jorden. Jordfunden blev gjort under reguleringen af Schwalm. Man opdagede på cirka en meters dybde omkring 30 egetræspæle, som var brændt i toppen. Mellem pælene lå keramikskår fra det 11. - 14. århundrede og rester af møllesten.
