Verdú Slot er en af de mest emblematiske bygninger i landsbyen, og det var omkring den, at de gader og pladser begyndte at blive rejst, som nu danner landsbyen Verdú i provinsen Lérida.
I året 1055 blev disse territorier erobret af Ramón Berenguer I, og i 1072 gik de til familien Arnau Company. I to hundrede år var de i hænderne på Arnau. Indtil året 1184, hvor Berenguela de Cervera gav indbyggerne i Verdú privilegiet til at bygge landsbyen rundt om slottet, som indtil da havde været placeret omkring floden Cercavins, en biflod til floden Ondara.
