Im kleinen Dorf Schoppen führt die Route vorbei an einem liebevoll restaurierten alten Bauernhaus von 1766, dem so genannten Haus Jierten. Zu der Zeit, als Kutschen und Fuhrwerke noch das Straßenbild prägten, bestand hier auf langen Strecken die Möglichkeit zum Pferdewechsel.
Seit 1988 ist das Haus denkmalgeschützt. Hier lebt bereits seit Jahren der aus Brügge stammende Architkekt und Künstler Jacques Bruynseraede. Er zählt er zu den wichtigsten belgischen Aquarellisten der Gegenwart.
