Hop und Bierproduktion sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. An diesem Ort befand sich früher die Brauerei Goossens. Die Brauerei existierte sicherlich schon im 18. Jahrhundert und blieb bis 1928 aktiv. Der letzte Brauer, Camille Goossens, war neben der Brauerei auch Bürgermeister des Dorfes.
Während des Ersten Weltkriegs beschlagnahmte der deutsche Besatzungstrupp das Kupfer der Brauerei, darunter die Braukessel. Nach einem kurzen Neustart wurde die Produktion endgültig eingestellt. Ab 2017 wurde es zu Hof Den Tuitelaar umgebaut.
