Das touristische Fernsehprogramm "Vlaanderen Vakantieland" suchte 2013 nach dem schönsten Wanderweg von Flandern. Diese Wanderung in De Blankaart war einer der Nominierten. Die Route ist die ideale Mischung aus Abenteuer, Natur und einem Stück Kultur. Das Naturschutzgebiet De Blankaart liegt kaum 2,6 Meter
über dem Meeresspiegel und ist eine ausgedehnte Fläche aus tiefgelegenen, feuchten Wiesen und Mähwiesen. Die IJzervlakte ist gespickt mit Wasser, Brücken und der dazugehörenden Fauna und Flora. Gummistiefel empfohlen.
