Die Venntrilogie verbindet drei Landschaften, die charakteristisch für Ostbelgien sind: Die Wiesen- und Heckenlandschaft im Norden, die Moorlandschaft des Hohe Venns und die zerklüftete Wald- und Seenlandschaft im Süden. Auf deutscher Seite gilt der 313 Kilometer lange Eifelsteig zwischen Kornelimünster und Trier als eine der beliebtesten Wanderrouten Europas. Venntrilogie und Eifelsteig können über eine grenzüberschreitende und beschilderte Verbindungsstrecke auch kombiniert werden.

Es gibt 2 Tagesetappen: von der Drielandenpunte bis Eynatten (24 km) und von Eynatten bis Eupen (18,9 km).
