Dübendorf ist eine politische Gemeinde im Bezirk Uster des Kantons Zürich in der Schweiz. Sie wurde mit dem Wachstum der Metropolregion Zürich zu einer städtischen Siedlung und nennt sich heute eine Stadt. Die Gemeinde umfasst die Ortsteile Dübendorf, Gfenn, Hermikon und Stettbach im oberen Glattal sowie die Aussenwachten Gockhausen, Geeren und Dübelstein am Nordhang des Adlisberges.
Die Stadt Dübendorf befindet sich auf einer Höhe von 440 m ü. M. und ist Teil der Metropolregion Zürich. Sie liegt an der Glatt, acht Kilometer östlich vom Stadtzentrum der Stadt Zürich, welche durch den Adlisberg vom Glattal abgetrennt wird. Der direkte Übergang liegt auf 606 m ü. M.
