Linz am Rhein ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Neuwied im Norden von Rheinland-Pfalz nahe der Grenze zu Nordrhein-Westfalen. 22 Kilometer rheinabwärts befindet sich Bonn, 33 Kilometer rheinaufwärts liegt Koblenz. Linz gehört der gleichnamigen Verbandsgemeinde an und ist deren Verwaltungssitz. Gemäß Landesplanung ist die Stadt als Mittelzentrum ausgewiesen.
