Bad Wörishofen ist ein Kneippkurort und die größte Stadt im schwäbischen Landkreis Unterallgäu sowie eine von 13 leistungsfähigen kreisangehörigen Gemeinden in Bayern. Sebastian Kneipp wirkte im 19. Jahrhundert in Bad Wörishofen als Pfarrer und verbreitete von hier aus seine als naturheilkundlicher Laienheiler erlangten Erkenntnisse von der heilenden Kraft des Wassers, der Grundlage der Kneipp-Kur.
Die Stadt liegt in der Region Donau-Iller in Mittelschwaben, etwa 80 Kilometer westlich von München und 35 Kilometer östlich von Memmingen am Wörthbach, einem Nebenflüsschen der Mindel.
