Breidenbach ist eine Gemeinde im Westen des mittelhessischen Landkreises Marburg-Biedenkopf. Die Gemeinde ist nach dem größten Ortsteil im Zentrum der Gemeinde benannt.
Die Kerngemeinde Breidenbach liegt in einer Tallandschaft am Zusammenfluss von Diete und Perf 320 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel. Der Ort erstreckt sich entlang der ehemaligen Scheldetalbahn Wallau–Dillenburg und der Bundesstraße 253, die über den Autobahnzubringer Dillenburg an der Sauerlandlinie den Breidenbacher Grund an das überregionale Verkehrsnetz anbindet.
