Gröningen ist eine Landstadt im Landkreis Börde in Sachsen-Anhalt. Sie ist Sitz der Verbandsgemeinde Westliche Börde.
Gröningen liegt im Übergangsgebiet zwischen dem hügeligen, nördlichen Harzvorland und der Landschaft der Magdeburger Börde an der Bode, am Rande der Ausläufer des Hakels, zwischen der Landeshauptstadt Magdeburg und dem Harz. Die nächstgelegenen Städte sind Oschersleben 10 km nördlich und Halberstadt 12 km südwestlich.
Der Stadtteil Kloster Gröningen ist im Mündungsdreieck zwischen Holtemme und Bode angesiedelt.
