Kronberg im Taunus ist eine Stadt und ein staatlich anerkannter Luftkurort mit 18.322 Einwohnern im hessischen Hochtaunuskreis im Regierungsbezirk Darmstadt. Kronberg ist Teil der Stadtregion Frankfurt, der größten Agglomeration im Rhein-Main-Gebiet. Sie hat ihren Namen nach der Burg Kronberg, von 1220 bis 1704 Stammsitz der Ritter von Cronberg.
