Östringen ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg. Die Stadt fasst eine Gemarkungsfläche von 5322 ha. Östringen liegt im Norden des Kreisgebietes am westlichen Rand des Kraichgaus zwischen den Ballungsräumen Karlsruhe und Heidelberg/Mannheim. Bis zur Kreisreform am 1. Januar 1973 gehörte Östringen zum Landkreis Bruchsal. Aufgrund seiner zentralörtlichen Funktionen für das Umland wurde Östringen 1981 von der Landesregierung zur Stadt ernannt.
