Hohenmölsen ist eine Stadt im Burgenlandkreis im Süden Sachsen-Anhalts. Sie war bis 1994 Sitz des gleichnamigen Landkreises Hohenmölsen.
Die Stadt liegt rund 15 Kilometer südöstlich von Weißenfels auf einer Anhöhe. An der westlichen Bebauungsgrenze fließt die Rippach, ein Nebenfluss der Saale. Ihre Umgebung ist einerseits von der Landwirtschaft und andererseits vom Braunkohleabbau geprägt. Der östlich der Stadt gelegene Tagebau Profen ist noch in Betrieb. Die nächsten größeren Städte sind Weißenfels, Zeitz im Süden und Leipzig im Nordosten.
