Im Frühjahr 1945 geriet Hildfeld unter schweren Beschuss. Zuerst von den Alliierten und dann von der deutschen Artillerie. Im Dorf wurden zahlreiche Gebäude zerstört oder beschädigt. Kaum vorstellbar, wenn man sich dieses friedliche Dorf heute ansieht.
