Etwa zehn Kilometer südöstlich der Stadt Mérida liegt es in einer großen Biegung des Flusses Guadiana, an der Grenze zu Vegas Altas. Es gehört zur Region Tierra de Mérida - Vegas Bajas und zum Gerichtsbezirk Mérida.
Sein Überleben basiert auf der Landwirtschaft und Viehzucht, was es zu einem wohlhabenden Dorf aufgrund der Fruchtbarkeit seines Landes macht.
