Der Guadalquivir [gu̯aðalkiˈβiɾ] ist mit einer Länge von 657 km der fünftlängste Fluss Spaniens und der längste in Andalusien. Der Name stammt aus dem Arabischen al-wād al-kabir oder Wadi al-Kabir, الوادي الكبير, DMG al-Wādī l-kabīr ‚das große Tal‘. Der Fluss wurde von präromanischer Zeit bis in die al-Andalus-Zeit hinein Baetis genannt. Er war namensgebend für die römische Provinz Hispania Baetica.
