Dies ist die fünfte Etappe des etwa 750km langen Weges von Albacete im Osten Spaniens nach Lissabon in Portugal.
Von Almadén aus fährst du über ruhige Straßen die Provinz Castilla-La Mancha hinaus. Aus einem bergigen Gebiet fährst du in eine Ebene in Extremadura hinab. Diese Ebene sollte ein riesiger Stausee sein, ist aber fast trocken. Die gesamte Route geht ständig auf und ab zwischen 350 und 650 Höhenmetern. Besonders zwischen Peñalsordo und Zarza-Capilla muss man 2km kräftig steigen. Dort wird die Straße auch breiter und belebter. Auch die letzten 30 km zwischen Cabeza del Buey und Castuera sind ziemlich belebt und recht monoton.
