Die Bodleian Library besitzt eine Kopie der Tabula Rogeriana Karte. Die Tabula Rogeriana ist eine arabische Weltkarte, die vom Geografen und Kartographen Muhammad al-Idrisi erstellt wurde. Er stellte die Karte im Jahr 1154 her. Er arbeitete 18 Jahre am Hof des normannischen Königs Roger II. von Sizilien.
Sie ist ein Meilenstein in der Kartographie, weil sie eine realistische Karte dessen ist, was zu dieser Zeit (12. Jahrhundert) über die Welt bekannt war.
Sie werden auf der Karte feststellen, dass der Norden unten ist.
Zehn handschriftliche Kopien der Tabula Rogeriana sind derzeit erhalten. Zwei befinden sich in der Bibliothèque nationale de France, darunter die älteste, die um 1300 datiert ist. Eine weitere Kopie, die 1456 in Kairo erstellt wurde, befindet sich in der Bodleian Library in Oxford.
